A Christmas Reminder of God’s Glory
As we celebrate Christmas, it is important to remember why this season holds such profound meaning for believers. Christmas offers a perfect opportunity to reflect on the miraculous truth that out of nothing, God brought everything—a Savior for the world. In the stillness of a Bethlehem night, Jesus Christ entered the world as a humble baby, bringing hope, joy, and redemption to a fallen humanity. This season reminds us of God’s ability to work wonders in the most unexpected ways and to bring light into the darkest places.
The Power of Creation
From the very beginning, Scripture demonstrates this profound truth. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:1-2). When He commanded, “Let there be light,” light appeared. I’m in awe of how God spoke into the emptiness and produced beauty, order, and life. His creation story reveals His ultimate authority and His power to create something glorious out of nothing.
Jesus Christ: The Fulfillment of Hope
The Gospel emphasizes the depth of God’s creative power through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Born in a manger, Jesus entered the world under the humblest of circumstances. Throughout His ministry, He displayed the divine power to transform lives. For instance, He fed thousands with just a few loaves and fish. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and even raised the dead. He brought me out of a life of misery and addiction. A miracle in itself. And I have no doubt He is with me now as I deal with the death of my daughter. Each miracle clearly illustrates God’s ability to replace scarcity, brokenness, and death with abundance, healing, and life.
The Ultimate Expression of “Out of Nothing Came Everything”
The resurrection of Jesus Christ perfectly expresses this truth. After His crucifixion, His followers faced overwhelming despair, believing they had lost all hope. However, on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, bringing with Him the promise of eternal life for everyone who believes. Out of the emptiness of the tomb, God revealed the fullness of His redemptive plan. “He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said” (Matthew 28:6). This triumph over death serves as the ultimate testimony to God’s power, which turns even the bleakest moments into the foundation for new life.
Applying This Truth to Our Lives
This truth also deeply impacts our personal journeys. If your life feels empty or broken, and all hope seems lost, God will work to restore and renew you. As Romans 8:28 reminds us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” God transforms hearts, mends relationships, and brings peace to troubled souls. Through Christ, we become new creations: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
To declare “Out of Nothing Came Everything” proclaims the glory of God. It reminds us that He specializes in the impossible, bringing life from death and hope from despair. In moments of emptiness, we can trust that God works within us, ready to reveal His power and grace. Just as He created the universe from nothing and raised Jesus from the dead, He transforms our lives, filling them with His purpose, love, and eternal promise.
Merry Christmas to all my readers and may the New Year grant you countless blessings
